EBONYI 13 LOCAL GOVERNMENT CARETAKER CHAIRMEN TO BE DISMISSED AND PROSECUTED FOR GROSS MISMANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS WORTH OVER ONE BILLION NAIRA
Ebonyi House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the state Governor to dismiss and prosecute the 13 LGA's caretaker Chairmen for gross mismanagement of public funds worth over one billion naira.

solved that the HPM's of Onicha, Izzi, Ohaukwu, Afikpo North, Ohaozara, Abakaliki and Ishielu LGA's be dismissed from service for financial mismanagement, also affected were the heads of departments of works in Onicha, Izzi, Ohaukwu, Afikpo North, Ohaozara, Ishielu? Ezza North, Afikpo South and Ebonyi LGA's for various degree of financial offences, others include the treasurers of Onicha, Izzi, Ikwo, Afikpo North, Ivo, Ezza North, Abakaliki, Ebonyi and Ishielu LGA's.
The treasurer of Ohaozara LGA is to be demoted, additionally, internal auditors of Onicha, Ikwo and Ezza South LGA were to be relieved and redeployed into another schedule for incompetence, while that of Ohaozara and Ivo LGA were to be relieved and demoted as punishment;
The cashier of Abakaliki LGA was was recommended to be sacked.
The Ebonyi LGA Chairman Hon Paul Inganga is to refund over fifty eight million naira while his Abakaliki co-fraudster be dismissed from office for gross misconduct bordering on dishonesty and abuse of office.
Afikpo chairman Hon Tony Ekoh is to refund over fourteen three million naira to Ebonyi Govt pulse, however, that was the amount he was unable to account for, he should also be dismissed from office and prosecuted.
The Chairmen of LGA's and treasurers, heads of departments of works were to refund various degrees of funds.
The House also ruled that the permanent secretary of Local Govt, Chieftaincy matters and rural development Dr Christain Umoke be dismissed from office for connivance with Ezza North council Chairman Mr Jeff Ogbu to withdraw the sum of twenty eight million naira illegally.
The Speaker directed the clerk of the House Mrs Rose Nwokporo to convey a memo to the Governor on the resolutions of the House.
