How CAN ended cold war between Umahi, Elechi

All things being equal, the protracted cold war between Governor Dave Umahi and his predecessor, Chief Martin Elechi may have come to an end. For followers of events in the state, the possible light at the end of the tunnel came recently when the two estranged political associates sat through a peace talk organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Ebonyi State chapter. N450m campaign fund: EFCC plans to arraign Chime, Umahi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said in Enugu yesterday that it may prosecute former governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime and Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi over the N450 million campaign fund allegedly disbursed through them by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the 2015 general elections. Chime had earlier told the EFCC that he only provided custody to the campaign funds which was later disbursed by those concerned with campaigns in the state. The anti-graft agency also disclosed that it detained two Enugu commissioners, Mrs. Rita Mbah (Culture and Tourism) and Chief Charles Egumgbe (Water Resources), at the weekend, over the election campaign funds released to the state by the PDP. Egumgbe was chairman of the PDP campaign organisation in Enugu last year while Mrs. Mbah was the secretary. What is your honest assessment of the current government in Ebonyi State led by Dave Umahi? The present PDP-led government in Ebonyi is nothing to write home about.  The man piloting the affairs of the state now, Dave Umahi is the first civilian governor of the state to have come from the business sector. His predecessors, Sam Egwu and Martin Elechi were groomed in the civil service. So, expectations
